A modern day Psalm

Healing Lord, Divine Listener, Comforter of my soul - because you've freed me from the sheltered workshop and given me a way to show who I am, because you've opened the doors to college, because you've saved my soul, because you've provided the correct medication to hold off many of my compulsive behaviors, because of these many past victories, I know you'll be there tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. I know life's trials haven't ended, but I don't fear the future, for you never stray from my side. Though some doubt my capabilities, none can fool you. Praise be to you, oh Mighty God!

God, hear my cries in the night, when sometimes my thoughts go astray and I feel far from you. Not only can't I do many simple physical daily tasks without someone's help, but I also can't walk my God-pleasing daily walk by myself. Guide my steps. There are skeptics who don't believe in facilitated communication so much that they will lie and deceive to keep someone from someday using it. Shield all those like me from their dishonesty.

I trust you Lord and know you'll travel by my side all the days of my life. I must remember to wait for life's triumphs to happen according to your calendar and not mine. Amen.
